Free crochet pattern Beaded Baby Slippers





CROCHET BEADED BABY SLIPPERS



 BABY FOOT SIZE CHART

THIS IS ABOUT EACH BABY MAY EVERY A LITTLE

AGE OF BABY                                                     SOLE LENGTH
3 MONTHS                                                           8.9 cm / 3.5”
6 MONTHS                                                           10 cm / 4”
9 MONTHS                                                           11 cm / 4.5”


                                    



Abbreviations Crochet Terms

Ch = chain
Dc = double crochet
Dec = decrease
Ea = each          
Hdc = half double crochet
Bpdc= back post double crochet
Fpdc = front post double crochet
Sc = single crochet
Sp = space
Sl st = slip stitch
Sts = stitches
Sp = space
Tr = triple (treble) crochet






Materials:


-Beading needle
-Beads size 5mm or 3mm (5mm looks nicer) about 170
-Ribbon size 3/8” or smaller (about 20” for each tie and 10” for each bow)
-Premade bows (if you wish or make them yourself)
-Steel Hooks

-Cotton Crochet Thread #10, Steel Hook size 1.65mm No#7

*Sole size for 3-6 months 4” long, (6-9 months  sole size 4 ½” – 5” long)

*Note: Use a hook that will crochet the size needed for you. If you crochet tight you will need a hook that will made bigger stitches and if you crochet loss then you will needed a hook that makes smaller stitches.

DIRECTIONS:
Note: Thread on half of the beads before starting about 70 enough for one bootie. (I thread on enough to do both.)


BASE OF SOLE: Chain 23 for 3-6 months, (Chain 25 for 6-9 months.)

Round One: ch23, dc in the 4th ch from hook, dc to the end make 5 dc in end ch. Working on the other side dc in each ch, making 4 dc in the last ch (this will be in the space with the chain 3 and dc is from the start). Sl st in top of ch3.

Round 2: ch3, dc in same space as of ch. *Dc in each space until you get to the 5 dc in the same space. In these dc spaces, work 2 dc in each dc space* (will be 5 times). *Repeat* on other side but when you get to the end work 2 dc in 4 spaces (the chain 3 dc in same space counts as one, total of 5). Slst to top of ch3.

Round 3: ch3, dc in the same st, *dc in each st across until you get to the 2dc in same space. Work 2dc,1dc,2dc,1dc,2dc,1dc,* repeat  until you have a total of five 2dc spaces. *Repeat* on other side but you will have a total of four 2dc spaces, (the ch3 dc space counts as one 2dc space). Slst in top of ch3.

Round 4: ch3, dc in each space around, slst in top of ch3.

Round 5: Turn ch3, Fpdc around each stitch around Slst in top of ch3.




Now we are going to be working the top of shoe starting at heal.
SIDE

Round 6: Ch 3 Turn. Dc in each st around, sl st top of ch3.

Round 7: Ch 3, dc in next 20 sts, (22sts 6-9 months), decrease next 16 sts, (total of 8 decs made), dc in remaining sts,  sl st in top of ch 3.

Round 8: Ch 3, dc in next 20 sts, (22sts 6-9 months), decrease next 8 decreases (total of 4 decs made), dc in remaining sts, sl st in top of ch 3.

Round 9: Ch 1, sc in same sp as ch 1. Sc in next 20 sts (22sts 6-9 months), decrease in next 6 sps, sc in remaining sps. Sl st in ch1.
STRAP

Round 10: Ch 4, * (Skip 1 sc sp, dc, ch1) *repeat*, 6 more times, ch 13 don’t twist, skip 20 sts, (22sts 6-9 months), dc in 21 sp. Ch 1 (Repeat dc, ch 1, sk 1) sl st in 3 rd ch of ch 4.

Round 11: Ch 2, sc same sp, ch 2 *skip ch, sc in dc sp, ch 2 * (Repeat*).  Sl st, to top of sc.

Round 12: *Ch 3, hdc in ch 2 sp, in same sp with bead in front of hook, sl st, *(Repeat)*, sl st to bottom of first ch 3. Finish off

Sl st in same of dc, *ch 3, hdc in next sc sp, with bead in front of hook sl st, in same sp, *(Repeat)* sl st at bottom of first st made. Finish off.














Trim the bottom of the Slipper

You will be working the same as top of slipper. Start with sole facing away from you. Sl st in the sc of heal, *(ch 3, hdc in next sp, with bead in front of hook sl st in same sp of hdc sp, skip one space).* *(repeat)*, sl st at bottom of first st made.


Ribbon for ties: Cut 2 at about 20” long, with a wood burner or use scissors cut and glue ends. you can also melt the ends with a lighter. Weave in and out of row 11.

Ribbon for bow: Cut 10 at 2”. Use 5 and fold in half, sew the 5 to make a flower bow. Sew beads in center as pictured. Sew to shoes.

Center the chains for the first row.
You will be working dc back across for the strap after you slst to the sole.

 Here I'm going to share with you that the patterns that you see for the beaded baby booties can be found in crochet books at Wal mart and Jo anns. You just need to add the beads first before you start crocheting.

You can buy a book at Wal Mart for less then $5.00. By the way the books come with about 8 patterns or more I think with all types of booties including the one that looks like what you see pictured.

But I made my patterns up where you don't need to cut the thread you just keep working the bootie.
You can, also buy the bow flower already done from the store. I make my own, it takes time to do this.

Ribbon for bow: Cut 10 at 2”. Use 5 and fold in half, sew the 5 to make a flower bow. Sew beads in center as pictured. Sew to shoes.
